The production of Tessitura Attilio Imperiali has been PFC-free since 2017, complying fully with the Greenpeace Detox protocol, which envisaged the elimination of waterproofing substances containing PFC before the end of 2016.

Because of their unique chemical properties (water- and oil-repellence, high thermal and chemical stability), PFCs (per- and polyfluorinated compounds) are used in numerous industrial processes including the water-repellent and stain-repellent treatments of outdoor clothing.

Once released in nature, they take an extremely long time to decompose, thus remaining in the environment for many years and, spreading all over the globe, they generate widespread pollution in surface waters (rivers and lakes), drinking water and groundwater, but also in the air and in domestic dust.
