At Lineapelle (February 2017), Tessitura Attilio Imperiali and Segre & Schieppati will present the venture that will involve artists, writers and illustrators. An explosion of pigments, alchemy and visual stimuli that unite art and craftsmanship.
The project consists of three main phases:
February: a journey begins. The project Contemporary Canvases by Tessitura Attilio Imperiali and Segre & Schieppati is launched. A voyage that will embrace the whole year 2017, interweaving art and fashion, tying up the appointments at Lineapelle with a dialogue with creativity
May: a residence. Four artists will come to the Company, explore its spaces, get to know its environments, the production cycles, the emotional stimuli and the materials. Different identities for different models: each artist will adopt a sample of the shoes and bags proposed, receive the punching die to work with and study the style. In this way a creative process will begin: a real happening in 48 hours. Lines, symbols, geometrical shapes, sketches and watercolours. The silks by Tessitura Attilio Imperiali and the canvases by Segre & Schieppati will provide a home for doodles and lettering by Marcella Ballarin, illustrations with collage by Benedetta Bertolini, the dark romanticism of Richard Blackstar and the underground fairytales of Marzia Nais (biographies attached). The visions of the four young artists will take shape and colour on the fabrics Raso Imperiali 1004 and Canvas Olona 3212, the flagship products of Tessitura Attilio Imperiali and Segre & Schieppati, companies that have always shared the love of tradition and quality Made in Italy, and which join now in a new joint project. Hands and inks will produce works in a large format, with strong contemporary influence, that will then be expressed in the punching dies, the patterns and the uppers, until the final prototypes are obtained. Cottons and silks will thus become the perfect place for artistic expression, the ideal stage for a story in images.
The artists will be followed by professional photographers and by a video troupe, who will follow them in the residence and document the powerhouse of activity while they work.
September: an exhibition The work produced will be presented on the stand of Tessitura Attilio Imperiali, at the next edition of Lineapelle. The journey of each artist will be exhibited in three stages: the large canvas with the original drawing, the punching die where the artistic operation was concentrated, and the final prototype created. In a continuous dialogue between material and experimentation, between research and design, between identity and story-telling. Between fashion and art. The journey of Contemporary Canvases will be told at every stage with the press, the web and the social media, to create a constant conversation with the public.
Contemporary Canvasses will also go beyond the sectoral boundaries of the brand and become a booklet, a small publication, a story of words and pictures to narrate the journey undertaken. And that will only be the first stop. Then it will start again, with a new edition and new ideas. In exactly a year from now.
